Within IFAD, successful KM requires close collaboration and coordination among divisions and departments. KM activities are carried out at all levels, from project level to hub level to regional level, across themes, across divisions and across departments. We consider KM to be everyone's business. However, there are a number of staff and teams in the organization with specific KM roles.
- The Corporate KM team in the Strategy and Knowledge Department (SKD) provides coordination, advice, support on KM, as well as access to guidelines, tools and capacity building. The team ensures a coordinated approach to corporate knowledge products and outreach, and manages the library.
- The KM Coordination Group is a working group of KM staff and focal points in SKD, and staff in the Programme Management Department (PMD) with KM responsibilities. Led by the Senior KM Specialist, the group works as a team on KM action plan implementation, monitoring and reporting. You can find the group members and their contact details in the Contacts section. The group meets regularly with and is guided by the Associate Vice President - SKD, who is the senior management "champion" of IFAD's KM programme.
- The Regional teams and sub-regional hubs work to integrate knowledge and KM in portfolio and results management; ensure knowledge flows
- SSTC and Knowledge Centres in Brazil, China and Ethiopia play a pivotal role in identifying and sharing best practice in and across regions.
- The KM Community of Practice (CoP) links all staff and consultants who are working on or interested in KM.
